Alucard goes to Japan! -- Arrival in Tokyo!
The motherland for Anime and Ninjas! Here we come!!!
Ok guys… I made it!
I've wanted to visit Japan ever since watching Naruto in primary school.
That wasn’t my first anime (that honor goes to stuff like Akira, Spriggan, and Ninja Scroll as a kid), and it definitely wasn’t my last…
I went on to watch countless more series and films, eventually taking Japanese language classes in college for two years. I loved it! It was the only homework I ever actually did—ever. Period.
Along the way, I fell in love with Japanese music too, and even wrote a grim fairy tale novella set in rural Japan (check it out below—click the image if you're interested! And please please please leave a review if you do get it).
Scroll down to see some snapshots from my journey so far!
Enjoy!

(Yes I have a lot of stuff… I am moving back to Australia for a while… Also why my outfit is mis-matched… Timbs with my Aussie straw hat…)
(Lol I know… but the tiolet impressed me… It had a control pannel with a number of settings and more buttons than a Gameboy! Different washers and a heated seat!
(Even the taxis are cute!)
(Sorry, but I am a massive foodie…)
(and nerd…)
(My view as I write this…)
P.S. As you can probably tell from the photo, my laptop’s on its last legs… I’ve been using this old, beat-up 2015 MacBook Pro to write all my work… Including:
My debut novel that is coming out in July in audiobook format, published by Blackstone Publishing and Skyboat Media…
My Darkmaw book and series…
And all my stories and posts on Substack…
So far, the ol’ MacBook’s done the job—even though I’ve been using an external keyboard for a while now. But recently, I started hosting Alucard’s Fantasy Podcast using Riverside.fm, and for the first time, my trusty old machine just couldn’t keep up. It lags out and barely runs it.
So—if you’ve been enjoying the writing, and especially the podcast (which I assume someone is, since it already has over 700 downloads!), consider buying me a coffee and supporting the effort so I can keep bringing you high-quality content. Thanks so much!
OMG this is amazing!!!! The view is fantastic!!!
Congrats buddy! I remember my first trip to Japan! Maybe after you return we can do a podcast discussing your trip? I'd love to put it on my Rajionippon section!
