So, I signed a contract with Skyboat Media & Blackstone publishing... #PODCAST OP
Hear about it all in the upcoming podcast with The Brothers Krynn--June 1st 3:00pm
Hi fam! Exciting news!
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was working on a deal for my debut fantasy novel The Living Light: From Gods to Ashes—and now, it’s official.
As you can see above, I’ve signed a contract with Skyboat Media!
What does this mean?
Skyboat will be producing a full, unabridged audiobook of my novel, and their partner, Blackstone Publishing, will be distributing it across all major platforms—Audible, their website, libraries, and more.
What’s even cooler? One of my all-time favorite audiobook narrators is not only narrating The Living Light but also directing the entire production.
That narrator is Stefan Rudnicki.
For those of you unfamiliar with his work, here’s a quick blurb to give you an idea:
“Stefan Rudnicki is a Grammy-winning audiobook legend with over 900 narrations and more than 5,000 credits as a narrator, producer, or director. Known for his deep, commanding voice and emotional range, he's been named one of AudioFile Magazine’s Golden Voices and has earned multiple Audie and Earphones Awards. Rudnicki has brought to life iconic titles like Ender’s Game, Speaker for the Dead, Legacy of Ashes, and Basic Economics, and collaborated with literary giants such as Orson Scott Card, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Harlan Ellison, as well as stars like Diane Keaton and Annette Bening. His work has shaped the modern audiobook landscape, making him one of the most influential voices in the industry.”
About the story: Brand, a jaded, fast-talking ex-thief with a shaky moral compass and a total disbelief in magic, and his unlikely companions—a female gladiator, equally rugged, beautiful, and cantankerous; a gigantic northerner, equal parts lighthearted, ridiculous, murderous, and profound; and a two-foot-tall fish-man magical experiment named (can you guess?) Alucard, who happens to be the only one able to master the art of magic—embark on a fast-paced, bizarre, humorous, and at times terrifying adventure through an immersive yet decadent fantasy world set 2.5 million years ago on Earth. The story features immoral, quirky humans; innocent yet deadly monsters; and a rigid magical system with a dark moral flaw at its core. Enjoy realistic and enjoyable small-talk moments weaved into a grand, world-building tapestry.
Join me for a live podcast on June 1st at 3:00 PM EST, where I’ll be discussing the book, the production process, and what it’s been like working with Stefan.
It’s been an absolute blast so far—and it’s only getting better.
If you can make it live, we’ll be doing a Q&A so you can throw questions at us in real time! And if not, don’t worry—it’ll be recorded and available for download afterward.
Lastly, if you want to support the effort, please restack and share this post so as many people as possible get to hear about the podcast and the book. I’d love to have all my friends there!
Peace!
Also, if you don’t want to mess around with the recurring payment of a paid subscription, consider supporting me by grabbing a copy of my first short story published on Amazon: Darkmaw: Yōsei-tachi no Kyōen (A Banquet of the Fairies).
It’s a Japanese horror short story inspired by—and heavily reminiscent of—classic Japanese animated fantasy.
It’s a bite-sized read, available for $1.99 or free with Kindle Select. If you do grab a copy, please leave a review!
