OMG I'M 20 SECONDS IN AND YOUR VOICE SOUNDS LIKE MAGICAL ROBOT UNICORN!!!! Aaaaah!!! Okay, time to listen and game at the same time 🤣🤣🤣 Lawd my attention span is everywhere this week.
I managed to figure out who's who. All y'alls voices were clashing at once, but managed to catch on when (correct me if I'm wrong) you mentioned writing in French and also you breaking down Substack for what it is.
My feedback 25 minutes in: Your breakdown is more thorough with what Substack is and it is something I've been needing to hear in a very long time. YT is too mainstream and cookie cutter. This episode... Idk how to explain it, but it's the ONLY one I trust that's very transparent and focused on the true do's and don'ts behind writing on this platform and treating it for what it is.
I’m glad you thought me transparent, I try to be. Honestly, I struggle with online platforms and don’t know how I got where I am on Substack except that it is through trial and error and developing strategies to self-improve and improve my writing but also to figure out how to form communities.
Building communities is hard as hell, but it also depends on the outlook. I used to build that traction, but randomly stop, idk why. I wasn't afraid of meeting people just didn't know what to do with folks after awhile.
Now, I'm just taking it day by day, build that community, ask questions, and when I'm ready to hit the ground running, I'm running. But your advice is like, one of the few real advices I have heard in a LOOOONG time. That's huge for me, because I prefer folks for telling it like it is, not what they would like to hear.
Also ya voice sounds magical too The Brothers Krynn 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Everytime I heard your names at the beginning my brain was like "heh, I bet they're the modern day Grimm Brothers and they're hiding the good good stories until it is that season. Okayyyy I see you!"
Then your life story sucked me in deeply because I'm close to that age (29) and have gone through things that have made me not want to write anymore or do digital art.
Ironically, Alucard's traveling posts and several others gently inspired me to pick up the Stylus again. Over time, I saw how human they were and I just wanted that as well. So TYSM for sharing your story (especially now I know who's voices belong to who 🤭🤭🤭).
You’re much too kind madame, and yeah I try to call it like it is while being polite. As to my voice hahaha merci, you’ll be able to hear plenty of it in the coming weeks as I release an audio-drama I’ve written.
As to stories, I’ve plenty on my substack mostly classic fantasy, that are pretty well oriented towards Europe and Japan.
I truly appreciate your kind words and am sorry you quit writing for awhile, I really and truly am glad you got it back. The Art is a gift from God I think.
Great questions also btw. Ik it's a lot for compliments at once, but these questions aren't your typical podcasting questions. It's giving the person you're interviewing space to provide a fluid answer to them and space to share authentic experiences while staying on topic.
I try to be, don’t always succeed. I must admit I struggled to answer completely that ‘how to succeed’ on Substack thing, it’s a tough question. Everybody wants to know it, and I want everyone to succeed but the site takes time and work.
Omg thread so deep we ARE a squad! 🤣🤣🤣 I love it, I love it, I love it!!! But now I'm about to spend some time on your stuff The Brothers Krynn and learn more about you and your writing.
And ooooh history, I love history. Well, I'm not as sharp anymore, but listening to people share their love for something is like... Candy for me. 🤤🤭🙌🏾
There was genuine gold in this podcast. I going to have to give this a second listen and take notes. Great job.
The standout advice was communicating with other communities. I think I have done a little of this in the poetry community. It makes sense to spread out to find interest.
I have also started thinking last week, that my biggest short coming is that I haven't expressed my personality enough. And this just about confirmed it.
I’m glad, I must say that any advice I give is also meant for me to apply more. So I don’t just give it to others, when I say things like this or write these things down I’m talking to folks like you and to myself.
So I really hope it helps you out Danny, let me know if it does.

Hahahaha
I think that’s the best compliment I’ve ever gotten!

lol no that sounds like The Brothers Krynn
I’m the Australian sounding one.
I was interviewing him.
But yeah we broke it down well. Especially him haha :) I was asking the questions. He was my guest.
Gotcha, I hear it now!

Haha thanks Hari! :) you da bomb 💣
Glad you liked the questions! I’ll take notes from your feedback!
Yeah The Brothers Krynn is definitely honest and chill.

Sounds good. I’d love to hear about it.

Yet another good piece of advise!
Thanks.
I will keep you posted. If I hear good advice I at least give it a try, and everything you said sounded solid.
Thanks, it also helps to appeal to smaller and larger substackers in my experience.
I thought the same thing and took these as gems as well!
Gals you enjoyed and got something from it brother!
I’m glad some of my rambling was helpful. I live to serve.
