Nimbin was an extremely weird place even when I was living on Broken Head Beach Road in 84. I thought California was weird, but Aussie feral weird is next level.
Yes my mechanic was in Mulumbimbi as were the best buds. Visit Nimbin once c 84, as you said, it felt like something sinister was lurking in the shadows. I was only interested in surfing and only ventured into the hills to pick shrooms and get buds or "heads" as you guys used to say

I spent the early days out at Drake, then moved into Ballina at about 8 and lived there until about 25, left for a solid amount of time then came back and lived all over the Northern Rivers for the past 5 years. Very recently left and am now in W.A. I don't have any stories as wild as a home invasion, more your day to day dysfunctional family variety!
The ballina slides are sick! I went not long ago. Good old Lismores always got a spesh place in my heart and Nimbins a beautiful beast of it's own. It's a wonderful part of the world, definitely need to exit the bubble regularly though.
I'm not easily disturbed, keen as to read more of your tales! Definitely inspired me to write down some of my own
